Let the games begin!
Global leaderboards are now available. Yay!
Ever since playtest 1 (much of the feedback has now made into this next version of the game) I've felt that being able to duke it out against each other would probably massively add to the fun.
So I went to work designing global leaderboards that are fair (because not all screens / arena sizes are the same), safe (because the internet can be a large and dangerous place to host things) and just (because AI is a thing now, people will want to hack the scores - and besides, we have data processing laws and regulations to follow).
And man, am I proud of the result! Thanks to amongst other things the brilliance of Supabase (an online database+automation service) I have been able to design a system that seems robust, safe and user-friendly enough.
Mind you, this is INVITATION ONLY for the time being. Feel free to get in touch if you want to play.
Right now there's maybe 10 of us involved in testing or so but I'm hoping those number will grow over time. I look forward to the competition.
